Trying to get this piece done and dusted. Adding a bit more details – particularly trees, cars, boats and rooftops. Then will need to blend the shading a bit more consistently. Worked on it for nearly 6 weeks now although inconsistently. Biggest challenge was patience and concentration. I thought I had plenty but when things get too repetitive for too long I get quite bored..
What's in the name? I first created the TendToTravel (TTT) name back in 2009 hoping it to be a travel sharing platform with contents created by everyone BUT myself. I wanted to be the coordinator and not the content creator. I believed others are better at this. My goal was to provide an alternative platform to Lonely Planet or TripAdvisor (huge dream indeed), a platform that shares personal experiences from independent travellers. Took me a month to think of a name that was incredibly tacky but easily recognizable. So TTT was born. There weren't many travel bloggers back then, so asking for quality contents from others were going to be tough (travel blogging was new and we were all experimenting with ideas and contents). Naturally I had to start off my own. After many months the travel stories became personal and the name TTT stuck to me today. Have been contemplating on a name change since last year, but having a tacky name is not bad either ;)
Composite City: Dubai Marina in 20cm Been asked where I've found time doing this. Truth is have been out of work for 5 months now. Been travelling quite extensively (a bit too much!) and trying out new projects / businesses that didn't work – despite working up to 16 hours a day on some days 7 days a week. No matter how good your CV is working for someone, it won't do much when you're trying to make it on your own. It's a different ball game. In the meantime will try to fit more time drawing – just like long distance running, it's highly addictive ;)
